CHALLENGE

To implement Kaplan Holborn College's new brand guidelines into the website, as well as refresh the overall look and feel.

PROBLEM SOLVING
 

I conducted some user-research and concluded that the students didn't want a corporate looking website, they wanted a fresh, funky modern looking website.

 

Users were complaining that the sites course finder was difficult to find (the backbone of an education website) they felt “lost” This led to fewer enrolments and an increase in phone traffic. From my research, I implemented I would implement some clean, bright and contemporary design, the user interface as well as arrange for new photography to be taken.

CONCLUSION

FINAL THOUGHTS

I redesigned the menu so it included a clear "course finder" section that would lead users to their desired course through using 3 dropdown options. There were also some call to action buttons that were always on show whilst users researched their course, "Apply now" and "Tuition Fees".

 

This would address the confusion issue and the annoyance of needing to phone or actually visiting the enrolment office for a course enquiry, this actually increased the online reservation rate by 35%. There was also great student feedback on how much they enjoyed using the website, an overall success.
